BioEarth

In 2019, I co-founded Bioearth with Rodrigue Makelele and Liz Blackman. Bioearth is an international, educational nonprofit dedicated to promoting societal and ecological resiliency in the face of climate crisis.

To secure a livable future, we must both adapt and act to mitigate climate crisis. These efforts will require an unprecedented level of cooperation never before seen in human history. Bioearth’s answer to this challenge is the One Billion for Peace pledge, a global movement of Sustainable Peace. We know that climate crisis is too big for any one government, organization, or sector to solve alone. However, a worldwide coalition of individuals and organizations committed to creating a world of Sustainable Peace is already making the changes locally that will bring about a positive future globally, because Local + Local + Local = Global. In addition to education, shared resources, ideas, collective advocacy, and mutual support, our network of Sustainable Peace also adds that ingredient that is truly critical at this hingepoint of history: hope.

The One Billion for Peace Pledge is a simple but profound commitment to pursue Sustainable Peace. Our signatories, which presently number between 1.4 and 2.0 million persons on six continents, come from different faith traditions, nations, and political parties. They understand that we must first hold a common vision of the positive future we wish to create, if we are to survive and even thrive in this era of climate crisis.
